Satoko Hatayama
ABOUT ME
My work celebrates nature's beauty through the careful selection and placement of seasonal materials, each piece capturing the delicate balance between the cultivated and the wild. In every arrangement, there's an invitation to slow down and reconnect with the subtle rhythms of the natural world, offering a moment of pause and reflection.
I began my career as a florist in Japan, my place of origin, by studying the fundamentals of traditional Japanese aesthetics and design. Earning my certificate from Ikenobo, the oldest school of Japanese flower arrangement, deepened my understanding of balance, form, and the expressive power of natural materials.
Since 2014, I have been based in Berlin, where I develop my craft, working for different clients and offering workshops, bringing together Japanese ikebana principles with contemporary European influences.
